Notes – Considerations and Ideas – Exercise, Poem – [Unitled] by Dan Annett

Preparatory notes – first responses to [Untitled] by Dan Annett

These notes demonstrate initial thought processes and what I feel in response to the poem.  The are however not a ‘finished’ set of notes and only provided a commenciery point.

For me, though not all of my feelings may be in concordance with the authorial stance, the poem is of connection, love, loss – though not necessarily death. The poem feels to me to describe the loss of seeing a loved individual pained and hurt. The poem considers the frailty that the human body can have and appears to describe ageing be it by injury, disease or the more standard advancement of years in someone we might love. It therefore seems not entirely dissimilar to the Dad Project as they share the common theme of love.
